With the the World Cup less than a month away, the Nigeria Football Federation have launched an official Twitter handle for the Super Eagles.

The verified handle @NGSuperEagles will provide news, features, videos and updates on the team from Brazil and going forward.

Ademola Olajire, the NFF’s assistant director of media, says the move represents the NFF’s recognition of the growing influence of social media.

“It was important for us to get on a platform that has such a wide and appealing reach. But we had to take our time and get it right,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria.

The Twitter presence adds to the NFF’s already impressive presence on Google Plus and YouTube (Nigeria Super Eagles) where it provides dedicated and exclusive pictures and videos from the Super Eagles camp.
