2015 Elections in Nigeria: 10 Political Sins an Aspiring Politician Shouldn’t commit…

Election-Time-Table

  1. Make indigene an issue instead of your credentials.

  2. Make your religious faith an issue instead of your love for all.

  3. Use Wikipedia as a social media platform to campaign. It’s against Wikipedia policy. It will lead to an embarrassing delete of your entry.

  4. Leave monarchs out of politics. They are no longer considered a legitimate political spokesperson.

  5. Announce to the world you have been endorsed by a Political godfather risking an embarrassing rebuttal.

  6. Have a book launch with at least no ‘A’ star politician on the high table.

  7. Make your political ambitions known and canvass those without influence at party primaries.

  8. Plant stories that could be refuted and backfire to tarnish your reputation.

  9. Jump gun by declaring your ambition is almost political suicidal. A lot of energy and money would be wasted and a lot of time spent to counteract negative press.

  10. Finally, avoid being the front-runner, the obvious favourite of the candidates before the race is declared opened. You will set yourself up as the candidate everyone is talking about and taking jives at. You will make yourself a political target for your opponents.
