#bringbackourgirlsPunch has reported that Four girls out of the 168 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, that were abducted by Boko Haram in April, have escaped. The Chairman, Chibok Local Government Area, Mr. Bana Lawan, announced this on Tuesday in Abuja at a one-day stakeholders meeting for validation of draft humanitarian response plan for the abducted girls. The meeting was organised by the National Emergency Management Agency.

A suspected Boko Haram attack on a military base and police station in north-eastern Nigeria left at least 33 people dead, a security source told AFP on Wednesday. According to reports in News24, the source, who requested anonymity, said 18 soldiers and 15 police lost their lives in the assault in the town of Buni Yadi, in Yobe state, at about 20:00 on Monday.

The United States has expressed skepticism that more than 200 schoolgirls held by Boko Haram militants had been located by the military, stating that it had no “independent information” on the matter, reports ThisDayThe military had said on Monday that it had located the missing teenagers, kidnapped mid-April by the armed militant group. According to AFP report, US State Department Spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, told journalists that there was no “independent information from the United States to support these reports.”

London is the cocaine capital of Europe with highest use of the drug of any other city on the continent reports London Evening Standard. New research published today, which analysed traces of drugs in the sewage systems of 42 cities, found that the capital had the highest cocaine use of any tested. In London 711mg of cocaine were detected in waste water per day per 1,000 people by the EU drugs monitoring agency study.
