Super Eagles coach, ‘Big Boss’ Stephen Keshi is set to announce final World Cup squad Monday. There were earlier reports that Keshi will drop seven players after the Scotland friendly but according to Ben Alaiya, the Eagles Media officer, the Big Boss will wait till June 2 before announcing the final 23-man squad that will don the Super Eagles jersey at the Mundial in Brazil. “Keshi revealed that the final list of 23 players will be unveiled on June 2, on time to beat FIFA deadline for the release of the final list of players who will take part in Mundial 2014,” Mr. Alaiya said in a press statement Thursday. Virgin targeted over ‘high risk’ FGM deportation to Nigeria after Holly Branson comments. Virgin Atlantic is being urged not to transport two girls back to Nigeria, where they are allegedly at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM), after Sir Richard Branson’s daughter Holly recently spoke out over the issue on a blog for the Virgin website. The family are being flown back on a Virgin Atlantic flight, just weeks after Ms Branson published a blog post on the Virgin Unite website calling on the public to “join me in standing against FGM”, reports The Independent.

Hired Thugs Attack #BringBackOurGirls Organisers in Abuja. The campaigners, who have met everyday at the Abuja Gardens to review developments and plan strategies, were attacked yesterday by hired thugs, while the Nigerian police watched from a distance. Let’s start with the President of Nigeria’s renewed determination to bring back the now revised number (219) of chibok missing girls. In reports by Vanguard, President Goodluck Jonathan reiterated his administration determination to use all available options in handling the threat of terrorism in the country, including dialogue, de-radicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration of members of the dread boko haram that renounce terrorism and embrace peace. This was made known by the president during his Democracy Day broadcast to commemorate 15th years of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria.
