These Girls Must Be Found Alive And Returned To Their Parents. It is not the time to play politics, but a time for a united front where all parties sit, talk and agree on how these girls are rescued.
Another thing of note is that, with the calibre of so-called media personalities with experiences occupying various advisory roles, the communication between the Presidency, the rest of the world and most especially the parents of the abducted girls has been incredibly short of credibility. To put it mildly, it has a catalogue of schoolgirl errors.
It is not only a let down by these individuals, led by Doyin Okupe and Reuben Abati, it has been disrespectful to the stressed out parents of the abducted girls.
Communicating with the parents will not be deemed as a sign of weakness. Engaging the principal players behind the #BringBackOurGirls campaign just makes common sense. I don’t know how those in the cocoon of the Presidency find it hard to think.
94 days into the abduction, it took a 17-year old activist Malala Yousafzai, to convince the President to disregard all his cronies who have deceived him all along, and for him to book time to meet with the Parents of the Chibok girls. Mr President, 94 long days should not have made you this comfortable. You haven’t brought any goodluck to bear when it comes to the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls.
Power doesn’t last forever, however, it is what you do with the power bestowed that will become history and last for eternity.
So far, I am not afraid to suggest that President Goodluck’s administration will be long remembered for all the wrong reasons.
