Manchester United have made history by signing the first ever wheelchair using football coach to work at the club.

Sohail Rehman, who hails from Yorkshire in England, gained his coaching badges last year and following a season working in Sunday League football, United have signed him up to work with their youngsters at the youth academy.

The Red Devils have a highly reputable academy which has previously produced players like Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and many more stars.

Rehman (22), was born with spinal muscular atrophy and started to use a wheelchair at the age at 13, but he is now living his dream of coaching professional footballers.

Alex Ferguson is his hero but it was former manager David Moyes who was instrumental in bringing Rehman to the club. He performed a coaching session at the club impressing then manager Moyes, who was keen to sign the youngster in the aftermath.

Club legend Nicky Butt said: “It is an amazing achievement and speaking to him he comes across as a young man who knows what he wants to achieve.

“It is magnificent now that he will be sharing these great qualities with young players of the future and I am sure they will be inspired by all that he has achieved.”

What more inspiration do you need to get up and get doing!
