Its Time To Immortalise and Reward Courage in Death.
This is an idea I have had for many years and thought it would be a worthwhile idea to bring these awards to Nigeria.
Let me point out that the Real heroes Awards is not an original idea. It currently runs in the UK, America as well as other countries.
If multinationals can financially back up reality TV programmes such as BIG BROTHER, NAIJA CAN SING and X-FACTOR why should it be difficult to back a programme such as NIGERIA REAL HEROES AWARDS.
Nigeria Real Heroes Awards (NRHA), is proposed to be a social initiative backed by private institutions in collaboration with Media, State and Federal Governments.
Its goal will be to honour ordinary Nigerians for their remarkable contribution to the society. The objective of recognizing and appreciating the ordinary citizens who have sacrificed their life magnanimously towards shaping a better Nigeria.
I propose it to be an annual felicitation ceremony for unsung heroes from diverse fields across the country nominated by Nigerians worldwide.
JURY
NRHA is proposed to be judged by a panel inaugurated by sponsors for that year’s NRHA. The selection process for the Editorial Board will involve thorough checking of cited events, persons and places, in order to ensure that only deserving individuals are given the awards.

Alongside Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh for her sacrifice and insistence Ebola importer Patrick Sawyer is not discharged from First Consultants hospital, Obalende , Lagos, where he was hospitalised…..
We would also acknowledge the ECOWAS protocol officer, Mr Jatto Asihu Abdulqudir (pictured above), aged 36, He was the officer on duty performing his duties. He met Patrick sawyer at the airport. He also died of the Ebola Virus and must never be forgotten.
On the 14th of August, 25 year old Justina Obioma Ejelonu, a nurse who came in contact with the late Patrick Sawyer also died of the Ebola virus. Justina must also never be forgotten.
As at publishing this post, Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has confirmed that the total number of Ebola virus-related deaths in Nigeria now stands at five. We don’t have the details of the two medical workers who had treated the Liberian finance ministry consultant, Patrick Sawyer and sadly died.
So, here you have it. The proposal is in the open.
I will do my best to pass the idea on to powers that be. I also encourage you, if you believe in the idea to circulate it for it to get to the appropriate people.
Thanks for reading.
RIP Ameyo Adadevoh
RIP Justina Obioma Ejelonu
RIP Jatto Asihu Abdulqudir
RIP to all other Ebola victims.
