I watched a Channels TV no holds barred interview with retired General Mohammadu Buhari. The views below are strictly personal .
1. I saw a Nigerian, an ex-military general looked the interviewer in the eyes, and answered tough questions without any spin.
2. I watched a Presidential aspirant who talked with pain at the level of corruption in Nigeria.
3. I observed Buhari, without any airs talk about his religious beliefs and why he isn’t prepared to offer an apology for peoples’ wrong perception of him as a religious fundamentalist.
4. I noticed a disciplined man prepared to tow party lines when asked about a controversial issue, even when it appeared he had another view.
5. I listened carefully to a former military man turned politician who is not ashamed of his past and was prepared to defend his role in getting rid of a corrupt democratically elected government led by the inept former president Shehu Shagari.
6. I was impressed to see a Nigerian leader who took a few moments to ponder questions before narrating his answers.
7. I watched with pride a Nigerian leader who was blunt and direct with answers. A leader that will make Nigerians proud on the international scene.
